Welcome
As an innovative and forward-looking department, we are continually striving to enrich our learners’ knowledge, understanding and perception of local, national and world history at all key stages.
The historians in the department have a range and depth of knowledge that spans from Ancient Greece to the 21st Century. In our teaching, we endeavour to utilise our specialised areas to instil a love of history in the learners we teach. We also aim to inspire them through cross-curricular activities, off-site visits and by making use of visiting speakers.
We are a popular and successful department at all key stages and are currently able to offer courses at Key Stage 5 not available in any other school in Swansea. In order to enhance the 6th form learning experience, we annually visit ancient sites, either in Greece or Rome.
